A PERSONAL NOTE

From the Founder

My name is Jigme Lhendup, and I am the founder of Zhingkham Excursions. This company grew from a very personal place — shaped by years of lived experience, family tradition, and a deep respect for Bhutan as both a home and a destination.

I come from a family of hoteliers and tourism professionals who have been part of Bhutan’s hospitality industry since its early beginnings. Growing up around this world taught me that meaningful travel is never rushed, never generic, and never handled at a distance.

Today, I personally oversee every aspect of our operations — from itinerary design and hotel selection to guides, logistics, and the quieter details that often make the biggest difference. I stay involved because I believe trust is built through presence, not process.

Beyond titles, I see myself simply as a friendly travel consultant — someone you can speak to directly, ask honest questions, and rely on for thoughtful guidance as you plan your journey through Bhutan.
